South Coast Activities!

Hi all,
I have been to the north of DR and this year we are planning on trying the south..I would like 2 go for 2 weeks.
Can any1 say wether its worth going AI or SC?!
We would like to get out of the hotels if this is poss? Is there alot to do around the towns or is it mainly hotel based?!
When in north we stayed in the complex and nightime got a little boring sometimes.
So after a nice beach n pool for day with a little something to do by evening.
Any1 know the place?! Thanks

Thats the beauty of it...anywhere in the south! Or east.
Would like to see some of the best beaches and have as much fun as possible !
