Need helpful information for sons' report

My two boys are doing a Social Studies project on the Dominican Republic. Aside from the normal stats I would love some useful, exciting to middle school students, information. Anything that interests them enough to care about their schoolwork would be greatly appreciated.

Also...

there is a lot of unique information on the DR1 homepage, besides the news check out some of the other links, go into the Puerto Plata report, read about the Dream Project etc. Check out the enviroment section of the message board and XR's hurricane reports. There is an abundance of useful info- just keep reading and searching.
I wouldn't suggest that you have your sons (depending on their age I guess) look too deep into some of the forums - they could get a little too much "education" - especially the Men are from Mars... forum!!!
