Have you ever seen a Dominican doing a job that you didn't know existed before?

Last November we flew into Santo Domingo, got through customs,and rented a car. We finished our paperwork and one of the rental company's employees was taking us out to the car lot. As we approached the exit, a uniformed employee of the airport seated next to the door, slowly extended his leg and activated the electric door for us. No slowing down. After we got our car, we realized we needed a local map. I went back in. Up went the leg and the doors parted. Got my map. Out I came. Leg goes up. Doors open. God I love this country!

Tolls

The people at the tolls who take your money and put it in the toll recipient for you. Whats the point!!

It was a very long time ago but

I noticed these people at the Post Office with tiny little desks and they seemed to be writing all the time. The I realized that they were writing letters for people that couldn't read or write...
