Problems with Flash and Netmeeting

I've been using Codetel's "Flash" ADSL service for about 3 years now without a glitch until recently. I used to be able to use Netmeeting without a problem to talk with my family back in FL but recently Codetel did something that totally screwed Flash with Netmeeting. Codetel "tech" said it was due to some "blocking" going on on their part to prevent some of those new viruses/worms from getting through.

Has anyone with Flash been able to use Netmeeting in the past few months succesfully? If so, did you do any special configuring? I also have a Linksys router but the problem still exists without the router connected.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated!

It has ZERO to do with viruses! It's all about making you pay for long distance calls.

They block the ports Net Meeting uses. This is to stop you making long distance calls and to effectively stop the call centers using Net Meeting and charging people.

Wow... 6 years living here and I still get surprised by some of the B.S. some of these companies like to pull...

Are there any workarounds to this problem? Maybe redirecting ports with the router or something?

Theres loads of other alternatives to netmeeting which must have certain ports open to work as you said.

Try http://www.eyeballchat.com has they have very unique software which forces ports open over NATS or trys to use port 80 http so gets round most firewalls and networks. I never have a problem over any networks with it.

The sound and picture is better then netmeeting i think anyway so just get your family to download it instead, just the usual free sign up stuff to do.
