Superclub Breezes Punta Cana
The Superclub Breezes Punta Cana is a nice family resort. We chose it because for all it offered; all-inclusive, (with top shelf liquor mind you!) huge pool, great beach, lots of activities for kids and adults plus we got married there and they had a great wedding package. The hotel is older but if you can overlook things like cracked tile in the bathroom or the Jacuzzi tub not working you'll be fine. If you have to have a mint on the pillow every day this is not the resort for you. If you're the type that can keep it in perspective, you're there for there beach, the pool and the constant warm breeze off the ocean, you'll love it. If you need a member of the wait staff bringing you another margarita as soon as you finish this one.... you're probably should expect to pay twice as much for your resort. Superclub Breezes is, without a doubt, a great deal.
For anyone considering getting married here's a few tips. Be sure to check the time of your ceremony closely particularly if you're getting married on the grounds not on the beach. Some areas on the resort can be quite noisy, although our wedding co-ordinator had the loud sound system at the pool turned down before the ceremony started. Chose upstairs at the Marlin for your reception dinner. This area has lots of room, unlike upstairs at the Italian Restaurant, and has a great breeze off the ocean. We had our guests form a "human wind block" so we could light our unity candle and that solved the only problem of the night! Designate someone in your party to videotape for you as well as photograph the ceremony instead of hiring someone there. The quality of the photo developing and videotaping that we saw was pretty sub-par. Ask to see the wedding ceremony and vows in advance. We rewrote the entire service complete with cues, like "..pause.." and " wait for ringbearer to bring rings to you" to be sure that everything went smoothly. Be sure to also designate someone to check on the seating arrangements and table layout at the dinner, we almost got seated based on what plate we ordered rather than who was married/dating who. "Fish here... beef here" was what they told our bridesmaid.... she had to rearrange the table and put the placecards out herself. Also my wife had to tell one of the waiters that she was the bride and she wanted the unity candle on the table in the middle not at the head table... can't believe he was arguing with her! So remember to be quite specific and not afraid to demand to get what you expect. The waiters did a great job, setting up a private bar for us and being sure everyone was well served. We did tip them afterward, even though the resort says it's not required.
