ok in the DR?

Hi all. We are coming down on Tuesday, (3/16). I love the DR, but I'm a little nervous because of the trouble in Haiti. Please say all is well...I would like to go into Puerta Plata instead of spending all my $$$ in the AI. We met some wonderful people in the DR who I would like to bump up with again.

Haiti's problems will not affect you in any way.

Haiti? Where is Haiti?

Seriously, this is such a big island that those of us living on the north coast have no sense at all that Haiti is on the same island. What is happening there is known only by what is reported in the news.
