Will the Dominican army pull-out of Iraq?

This morning's news of the Socialist election win in Spain that transpired under the heavy weight of the recent Madrid terrorist bombings has brought the message of Minister-elect, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, a desire to pull his country's troops out of Iraq by the end of June. Will it have a side effect on Dominican presence there?

The Dominican troops are positioned there under Spanish leadership and the Mejia government has commited Dominican support to the U.S. led occupying force in Iraq for at least until this coming August. .....Just wonder how the Dominican government is going to place a spin on this situation without offending the deep pockets and solidarity of the Spanish and U.S. governments. The troops will be minus Spanish leadership at the end of June and commited to August with the U.S. If they do pull-out at the same time as the Spanish you can bet there will be a sigh-of-relief in many Dominican homes.

Looks like to the terrorists won and the Brave, moral and smart people in Spain lost.
I guess the majority of people there would rather live on their knees than be brave!

UNFAIR Tony ....... this was an election pledge made way before the bombings!! He should be comended (if he carries it out) on upholding his pledges - MORE Presidents & Prime Ministers should do the SAME!!!!!

Re the Dominican situation (just to bring this back into line) I would HOPE they do likewise. I don't see them contributing ANYTHING to the situation in Iraq & the money saved is sorely needed in this country. Don't misunderstand me, I am not FOR terrorism, nor do I suggest EVERYONE comes out of Iraq now, but I was anti the REASONS given for going to war (subsequently proved to be FALSE as we all suspected they would be) so the invasion of Sovereign territory, the invasion of Moslem fanatic GODLY territory & the subsequent problems are now being proved to be just POLITICALLY motivated. THAT is what I am against - lies & deceit by our "LEADERS"??. - Grahame.

Thanks Bushbaby for bring the thread back into line. My curiosity is focused on what will be the diplomatic response the Dominican government as a result of the planned the Spanish action.
