atm machines in santo domingo

does anyone know if there are atm machines based on banks from the us in santo domingo?

The ATM machines are ALL internationally connected to either the PLUS or CIRRUS systems (or both). I do not know of any regional networks in the Dominican Republic. The chances are that your card issuer is a member of one or both of these networks, or are members of a network that is a member of one of these.

Banco Popular is a named used by many different and unrelated banks. The Banco Popular Dominicano (in the Dominican Repulic, <A HREF="http://www.bpd.com.do/menu.htm">http://www.bpd.com.do/menu.htm</A>) is not related to the Banco Popular de Puerto Rico (<A HREF="http://www.bancopopular.com/bppr/ingles.html">http://www.bancopopular.com/bppr/ingles.html</A>). The Banco Popular Dominicano does have a single branch in Manhattan, NYC (not named Banco Popular either).
