Hi to all,
My husband and I are thinking of retiring to DR in about 5 years. He is and American citizen and a Dominican citizen. Would this confer any legal resident status on me via our 25 years plus marriage?
Would our marriage create any social barriers among the expat community?
(My husband was a citizen long before we met and married).

The fact that your husband is a Dominican citizen as well as a US citizens should create no barriers in the expat community. Why should it? We have expats of many nationalities. People are accepted for who they are as persons and how they fit in.
