Years ago I used to enjoy going in to the Lobby's of the Hotels and getting my free copy of The Dominican Republic News (Printed only in English)

However my Interest was In the Puerto Plata Insert in the middle of the paper.

I was wondering what ever happened to the lady who wrote the Puerto Plata Insert? ( I thought she was very good )

I cannot remember her name.

Dolores

Could he mean Wendy Martinez, Angie Jimenez or any one of countless other people who used to write?

Gringo, if we're on the same page, it was the Santo Domingo News, with Puerto Plata News insert. And 3 guesses as to what has superceded it!!!

Thank You Lambada, They say the mind fails first, thats why they came up with Viagra right...

Anyway yes it was the Santo Domingo News and the insert was Puerto Plata News.

The Lady I was thinking of was Angie Jimenez (Were is she now?)

And last we all know the "Infamous" Dr1 superceded it.

I know Wendy returned to Canada with her Dominican husband & children, (we've been in touch since then) but I have no idea where Angie is. Try asking Dolores.
I was also one of the "countless contributors" years ago.
And don't worry about the "senior moment" - happens to all of us!

Nope, sorry it wasn't. I wish I had that amount of wit!!!

You refer Sir to the renowned Anthony (that's Anthony with a thhhhh in the middle) Bispham. He wrote under the pen name of Liam O'Flaughety. Yes, I agree, those letters to Aunt Jane were terrific. Anthony fell on hard times I understand & with the ailing health of his wife, had to return to England - also fighting a court case I believe, but NOT against the Santo Domingo News!!

If/when we speak next, I will pass on your comments re enjoying the letters home!! - Grahame.
