Hotels/Condos on the Malecon/Conde?HELP!

[/SIZE] Does anyone know of any NICE/CLEAN hotels/Inns/Suites/Condos on or near the Malecon or Conde De Calle that are under $40 USD a night and can accomodate two people with a POOL as well??? I'm looking for a Jargua alternative... Any suggestions would help me out as my trip nears ...May 30th- June 7th!!!.. DR here I come!

Plaza Colonial Apart-Hotel

Check out Plaza Colonial Apart-Hotel in Santo Domingo. It is a complex of several buildings across the street from Parque Independencia and a short walk away from El Conde. They have a pool and an ok restaurant which provides room service. $45.00 will get you a large room with private bathroom, air conditioning, cable TV, and telephone acording to a brochure
I have of their premises. I have stayed there several times myself. They have no website to my knowledge. Call them at (809) 687-9111 or at (809)
