I'm afraid that this won't help you much

Firearms are readily available in the Dominican Republic.

Handguns: There are plenty of stores that sell them. No large caliber handguns are allowed to the general public. .38 cal or 9 mm are the largest allowed.

Shotguns: There are specialty stores for these

Air rifles: These are also regulated.

All weapons must have a government issued permit. The permit requires a psyche exam and a written exam. Licenses cost over $100.00 per year.

Penalties for non-compliance include jail time and heavy fines.
