Hi all,
I'll make a short introduction. My name is Michael and I'm a citizen of the USA. Although I'm only 35 I'm unfortunately retired do to a muscular disease called Torsion Dystonia.
About two years ago (that's when I retired) I left for Thailand. I've been living in Pattaya Thailand for two years now and I've been having the time of my life. Unfortunately I'm to young to get a retirement visa (must be 50) and they've recently changed their visa regulations so I will no longer be able to stay here. In about six or seven months I'm going to have to leave.
I rather enjoy being an expatriot and I pretty much need a tropical climate as the cold can be pretty uncomfortable for me.
I never intended to stay in South East Asia so long. It's just that the women are so much fun here! I'm going to miss that feminin attention!
Anyway, since I've got Asia off my list I want to investigate the Carribean. Specifically two places interest me although I don't know much about either. Jamaica is one and the Dominican Republic is the other.
Don't know if I can afford to live on either Island. I know that in the DR it's pretty easy to get residency and that's important for me as I'll want to buy a house after I live in the place for a year or more and decide I like it.
I'll be asking a lot of questions in the various forums. I hope to make some friends here.
PS. My Torsion Dystonia has been stable since my second brain surgery in 1985 and doesn't require any medical attention, medication or services.
