We met this great tour guide in DR North Coast called Julio who is based around Puerto Plata and Cabarete area. Instead of the expensive group tours that are arranged by the holiday tour reps he managed to save us loads and took us on some private tours aswell.
One of which I will never forget, walking/swimming up cascades and waterfalls in crystal clear water!

Unlike other tours he will take you to wherever you want to go or make suggestions on stuff you like doing for any amount of time...top bloke!
