No there isn't

there are a couple of people that look at the stars but no observatory.
Dominicans know that the sun comes up in the East and that the wind comes from the east and that fruit falls from the trees, either real or political. I have only seen one attempt here in Santiago to put up an observatory and that was in a nutty so-called architect's house..

Sorry.

There is one as part of the Science and Natural History Museum in Plaza de la Cultura (the complex where the National Theatre and other museums are located, near the US embassy in Santo Domingo) which used to hold public viewings (I think every full moon?) but when we tried to go recently the whole place was closed down. But you could check again to confirm. If you do, please post your findings here.

You should be able to

Venus is high in the Western sky and highly visible. Good luck

Our last good show was when the five visible planets were all together and visible...Super cool
