Do D.R. Casinos Allow Sports Wagering?

I have searched tirelessly online for all casinos for S.D. and NONE mention sportswagering as part of their casino, only table games and slots.

If anyone knows of a casino that allows you to bet on sports, such as baseball or basketball, please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

I don't know about casinos. But there are lot's of sprts bars and "bancas de apuestos" all over the place that do just that.

The Jaragua does, but one problem. The "book" closes at like 12 am, so if you have a wiining ticket you have to wait until next day on late games ???

Jaragua is good place to bet on and watch games

The best place is the Jaragua hotel's casino with multiple screens where you can follow a lot of games and betting windows right there under the screens. You have Champions sports bar right there in the hotel a few steps away from the casino.

If there is something that competes with the 'colmados' (sort of a convenience store) in excess in the DR it is the 'bancas de apuestas' or betting banks. The whole country seems to be betting on numbers constantly!

Dear ddtjman

There are over 6,000 betting parlors in the DR. You can bet on hockey, baseball NFL Boxing, basketball. Look for signs that say JUANITO SPORTS. They are generally airconditioned and smoke free. Payoffs are instantaneous. However, many do not stay open for late games. Its a pain in the Buttinski when Monday night football is featuring an important game.

Remember to set aside the return trip's necessary expense money, just in case things don't go well; he! he! :cheeky:

LOL, true. Well my return trip is set in stone and paid for so I'm lucky in that regard.

I won $836 in the Bahamas last month so hopefully my luck continues.
