We arrive at Puerto Plata Airport on Friday 25th June at approx 1.pm. Can you give any advice as how to get to our accommodation in Sosua, there will be 5 of us with 5 cases. Will there be taxi's outside the airport capable of taking us all in one trip, and roughly how much does it cost?

Thanks

The taxis include vans capable of taking your party of 5. A couple of months ago the charge to Sosua was US$15. Even if it has increased since then, it will be no more than US$20

If I were you, I would contact the place you are staying and see if they can arrange for a van/driver to pick you up. We have done this before (a group of 4) and usually find that this works well.

That being said, if they can't or don't make the arrangement for you, you shouldn't have much trouble doing it on site.

They may tell you it's 20 bucks per person.
It is not.
Stick to your guns and you'll get it for the fair price.
Marco.

Just make sure that everything is perfectly clear regarding (a) exactly where you are going and (b) exactly how much it will be before you get in.

If the first taxi fare sounds too much - say 'no thanks' and move on to the next guy, you will soon hear the first guy calling you back anyway with a revised price.
