Yes another bachata thread.... (Hi Lesly!)

I love the song that is titled 'Vuelve Otra Vez' from Frank Reyes. I'm looking for that CD. Does anyone know what is the name of it? I think it is his latest one.

Here is the first verse:

Thanks for remembering me in this thread. This wonderful song by Frank Reyes is called "Esper?ndote" and the weird thing is that it's on his new album "Cuando se quiere se puede" (song #11) but it' s also on his previous album Nada de Nada song #4 if you have the original version. The lyrics are sentimental indeed but then again it's a typical Frank Reyes bachata. I am surprised that you are only hearing it now. It was well promoted when Nada de Nada's popularity peaked and it's still considered one of his best bachatas.

There is a big mistake on the original cd Nada de Nada. It's track # 4 but it's not included in the list songs on the cover. Maybe that's why it was inlcuded in the new release to compensate somehow.

I 'lost' a lot of my cd's on a move. I have been hearing this song forever, but I heard it again a mix bachata cd I have and I remembered that I really want Frank's new CD!

I have to get back to you on 10 songs, my very favorite CD is the one that he had about 5 or 6 years ago. I dont know the name of it because I usually do not keep the covers, I put them in my case and never look at the names of the songs or the cover names.

When I go home tonite I'll look at the CD and tell you the name...

what are yours?

Frank Reyes

Being that I love Bachata, I took the advice this morning and downloaded some Frank Reyes stuff. Including Esperandote. You're right. It's good.
You gotta love Bachata. As El Torito would say "Bachateame Mama. Con sentimiento".

I know it is probably getting old, but it is still my favorite bachata to date. My daughters like it too and want me to translate it for them. Does anybody know where I can get the words to the song. My Spanish shorthand is not very good. Thanks, Bob

You're right: 'Vine a decirte adios' is a wonderful bluesy bachata song.
Is that also the title of the CD it is on?
I only have it in a live concert version.

On another thread some people compared bachata to being the dominicans' equivalent of american 'country music'. I disagree: to me bachata is 'blues' music and Antony Santos and Raulin being the BB King and Dr John's of the Caribbean. Maybe merengue tipico can go for 'country music'.

For some reason I thought he was saying "Nada de nada es nada" as in "nothing from nothing is nothing". It's the gringo in me. Thanks.

I just use Kazaa. No problems. I have a huge collection of bachata. If you like (or anybody else) PM me with an e-mail address and I can e-mail you what I have.

Thanks. I dont download ANYTHING!! I'm too scared of ruining my laptop (again) and anyway, I have too much school and work related archives that I cannot afford to lose...

Hi James,

You may want to try Zacarias Ferreria. His new album is called "Chica de mi barrio". Mostly likely he is the artist. I am not a Zach F fan so I don't follow his music closely.
