Help with importing a cities animal.

Hello,

I am curious as to what would be required to import my Blue and Gold Macaw into the DR. She has been my pet for 2 years and I do not want to get rid of her when I relocate.

You would probably need the same things

That a dog would need.->
A certification from a Vet that the bird is healthy
A consular stamp that the above certification is authentic,
A cage to ship the bird in
An arrangement with the airlines that they will be able to handle this aminal.

Thanks, for the info..... I was hoping it would be as easy to do as a dog or cat..... I know some countries require you to have an exotic animals permit or other hard to obtain documents.........

There is an American vetinarian here called Dr. Bob. He is just outside Sosua. Enormously helpful guy. Might be worth a call to check if exotic species licence required - 1-809-571-2286

If you have a tranquilizer and some wire...........

you can show up with HUGE earrings with a tropical feel.
