Can anyone help with information about bringing animals in the country. I have 2 dogs and am wondering if they will be kept in quarantine and if so for how long.

Thanks

Judy from the Pet Lodge in Sosua should be able to give you all the details.
If she doesn't answer here, I'll phone her and get you the info.

We bought 2 dogs with us from England and bought another 3 over from the States, they do not have to be quarentined but you do have to have your paperwork straight. Ask the airline you are useing they are normally very helpfull.
Good luck,

No quarantine

1) Take dos to Vet. Get them checked out
2) Have vet emit a CErtificate of Good Health and Vaccination__Rabies is a must
3) Have VEt's Certificate stamped by nearest Dominican Consulate
4) If no Dominican Consulate is nearby, just get it stamped to look impressive by the local Health Board.
5) Get a travelling case for each dog.
6) Check with the airlines--some have serious restrictions
7) When you get here see the Inspector de Salud Animal at the airport and give him the papers all nice and stampted.
8) Give your dogs some water and take him home.
