Hi everybody,

We plan to spend three weeks in the D.R. My ladyfriend and I both

enjoy Merenque and Bachata for that reason we plan to dance our nights

away wherever we may be when the sun goes down. We want to bring

back the best of both Merenque and Bachata music. Are there music stores

where you can pick your own titles and the owner will record them on

to a CD for you? Something along the lines of down loading from a computer.

Back in the early 80s in Colon, Panama I used to go to a music shop

and give the owner a list of salsa songs and he would copy everything

onto a cassette tape.

Thanks for your time!

Hello,
if you are a regular guest at a disco and get to know the DJs, you can ask them to make one for you, although some of these guys are more reliable than others, so give them enough time, also because of the power outages and general lazyness.
Maybe you can also try at local radiostations, I heard they do this as well.
There are of course plenty of street vendors selling pirate CDs with variado de merengue and bachata but then you don't get exactly the songs you want.
Regards,
Bartolomeo

Why don't you go to Kazaa.com and download the songs yourself. Or when you are down there buy compilation cds or greatest hits.

Any place there that sells music will make a comp. cd for you. I usually just go in and ask for the most "pegao" songs of the week. It always gets me good stuff.

Excellent Stewart!

Thanks Stewart!

I had the feeling that's the way it works. Go into a small music

store, tell them want you want and go home a happy customer.
