All the banks I called don?t have any, or have none available. Anybody has an idea?

You can buy one of those boxes like hotels use and install it securely somewhere in your house.

Those boxes dont help much to often I heard of cases
where the burglar puts a knife to your throat forcing you to open it.
Those boxes are only good to keep your valubles safe from casual workmen you might have walking around.

In fact the new electronic boxes pop open automaticly
when you have a power failure. That would mean here , they are never closed.

Bank safety deposits are the only way to go.
Scotia bank in Cabarete plans to have them soon as they say.
But then again thats what they have been saying for months.

This is what I have. I want it out of the house, for the reason Paul mentioned.

Just a suggestion, gerd, may not be the most convenient for you, but why not try banks in Puerto Plata, until availability is possible in Sosua/Cabarete?

People tell me there are no Box's available in Puerto Plata as people have been taking there US. cash out and putting it in Safety Deposit box's so there was quite a rush on them.
