Hi!

I've bought (at ebay) portable FM radio for US$98 with delivery to EPS, following is the bill:

010 LIBRAS 4.25 765.00

020 MANEJO DE PIEZAS 1 10.00

060 IMP. ADUANAL 3787.5 3,787.50

Total => 4,562.50

Import tax is around 100% for radios from USA. Is that regular tax rate?

Thank you!

I think you paid too much. But that is MHO.

I didn't pay, after investigation I found that they tried to charge me for 5 (!) radios, but I recieved only 1... So I paid just 1,000 peso with delivery... :)

I stopped using EPS years ago.

Business Mail is much cheaper and just as reliable....

Live and learn. At RD$1000 for a nice radio, that is not bad....really but $4,50 a pound is outrageous and that aduana fee is criminal.. Glad you got it straightened out. Someone with more money than sense would have paid it and thought nothing of it...

EPS. Part II.

Does anyone have friends in EPS? I'm awaiting a delivery of a new Apple dual G5 computer with 30" LCD display. It's impossible to find it here, so I've ordered it on applestore.com. I just want to be one of the first ones to own this thing. Total price of both pieces is about US$10.000. I made many orders via EPS while they still were duty free, but now they suddenly introduce these criminal duties. :-(

My order is coming by FedEx on September, 10th, is it possible to sort the things out before EPS get the delivery?

I greatly appeciate any help!

Please PM me.
