I'll be relocating to the North Coast soon. I'm retiring and won't need to work but I've been thinking about the following possibilities in case I get bored and need something to do. Suggestions/input are appreciated.

Disregarding all the usual hassles with opening a business in the DR what are your thoughts on the following:

Buy or lease a small building and throw in a couple of slot machines to keep tourists entertained. Not a full fledged casino, just a few machines to bring in a little income.
The DR lacks in the following, so I would also put these items in the same storefront.
Magazines and books. I know there's no place to buy them in Cabarete/Sosua.
A good 'American" hamburger and hotdog. I've seen tons of cows, I don't know why you can't get a decent burger there.
Computer repair.
And maybe through in a few souveniers for good measure. In other words a Variety store of sorts that would offer services to tourists and local expats alike.
Thanks,
Bob
