Where can I watch the games this Sunday in Santo Domingo? I really only care about my team, the Texans, who are not particularly popular, so it would have to be a place that is showing the majority of games.

Champions

Try Champions in the Casino in The Jaragua hotel.
You can even bet on every game and sit in stadium style seats!

forget Champions

Easy.

"5 Star International".

Champions will have whatever is on the national broadcast they pick up. They suck, unless you're staying there and are scared of the sidewalk.

This place is run by the same nervous yahoo that ran the sportsbook at Jaragua. He's as friendly as a bag or rattlesnakes, nonetheless, someone helped him figure out the need for a real sports/betting bar. He reminds me of the guy that wouldn't leave his cubicle in the movie "Office Space". And as soon as you get there and see him, you'll remember that description and laugh. If not, try a shot of JD, if not still, try another one. ;)

It's about a mile or less West of Champions (Jaragua) on the Malecon.

Great place to watch games, they'll have everything that's worthy, on TV.

Not sure if the Texans are worthy, but they might give you a little love. Just ask, they'll put your pitiful Texans on a TV for you.

Plus, pitchers of beer. Never found that anywhere else. You can bet if you care to. Plenty of parking, plenty of wannabe chopos, but if you get enough of the pitcher and yahooism in you, they'll want nothing to do with you.

Just bring friends.

Pats are the best. See you in Jacksonville - well not you, but.... :cross-eye

Seriously though, David Carr is a bust-out this year.

I agree that 5 Star is now the best place in town to catch NFL/College football. Every time I've been there they didn't serve food, but you can use their phone to order in KFC, pizza, etc and they have the menus from some of the closer takeouts.

I like the NFL but I love college ball and it is pretty easy to guess who I root for, the only game I made it to in person last year was the Sugar Bowl and that was really sad :disappoin but I hope the Orange Bowl this season will make everything all better.

There is also a book that has satelite feeds on Privada esq. Betancourt(I think). Somewhere in that area anyway.

Is there a similar place in or near Santiago?

Or near Puerta Plata?

Thanks
