One of our posters on Debbie's Dominican Travel Travel Forums reports that his charter flight at 7 a.m. today from Pittsburgh to Punta Cana was cancelled because "the airport had lost its roof and all flights were cancelled".

Can anyone substantiate this claim - PJT?

Spoke to the airport. The reason why flights have been cancelled is because of the reduced visibility. It has been raining intensely. A flight from Switzerland is expected today, but otherwise, flights have been cancelled. Report from the operations department is that the roofs did not suffer structural damage, and any damages are being quickly repaired. Once weather conditions permit, the airport will resume its operations, which they expect to be later today.

Thank you very much, Dolores.
