What sort of EFL programs do the better universities have, and what are the terminal degrees for the professors who teach in these programs?

I'm contemplating further education....MA in TESOL. I'd like to know if it is of any use in the DR. In other words, with an MA could I teach English at the University level?

You'd be a star. Native speakers, with TESOL degrees are exceedingly rare here.

I would recommend that you go ahead on this, and maybe develop a third language while you are at it...Portugese or Italian are easy enough and the techniques are the same.
