Current exchange rate

Can anyone give me an idea of what the current exchange rate for dollars is at, say, the Western Unions in the DR?

The official exchange rate is found here. market rates are slightly better, within one peso to the dollar; the best rates are found on the street or at small independent "casa de cambios" but you should know what you are doing before using someone on the street.

The banks will usually give you an ok rate, at least better than the hotels. For actual market exchange rates surveyed daily, go to

looking at this site it gives a higher rate than the rate I get to send money from Western Union. I wonder why?????

Don't you love Western Union ? They charge you to send it,them RIP you off on the exchange rate.
