I hear that Latinos prefer their women with more filled out bodies, curvy and luscious. Do the Dominican men fall in with that? Have they been influenced by the North American ideal of thin and hard? How do they feel about body hair? I know it is probably as individual as the tastes of North American men, but I wonder if a generalization can be issued.

Like in every other country, everyone is different and have different tastes. I can say alot of dominicans like woman with big bootys not fat just round and shapely and nice legs. un Mujeron as they say LOL. majority dont like fat chicks LOL.

A bit off topic but worth noting--is how the media and world of advertising does not recognize the different beauty ideals that are celebrated in other cultures. Ads typically glamorize skinny models who do not resemble the curvy/voluptous body types that are accepted, and even preferred, in Latin American countries. The underlying message for women is that you have to be unnaturally thin in order to be accepted and feel normal. It's no wonder Latinas are becoming increasingly preoccupied with their body images and weight. The sad part is that this preoccupation can lead to lowered self-esteem, mental health issues, and eating disorders. *Oh, and lookin'forlove, please be happy with your curves--men DO love them!! (more importantly, don't let the media's "ideal" affect how you feel about yourself)

Fat, skinny, ugly, pretty, it doesn't really matter because as long as you're foreigner the sankies come a runnin'. This is the case as far as my experience has been in the Dominican and what I have witnessed there, it's obviously not like this everywhere.

Give me a little confidence or prepare me for the fact that things may not be as I am familiar with. My own preference is to be attractive to myself and then attractive to all people. I'll venture to answer what Dominican men like in general - disclaimer: NOT ALL!). Dominican men usually like the 'pear' shaped body. Booty and legs, big boobs not a must but nice ones are appreciated. Although being body concious is big these days, Dominicans have other things to worry about: rising beer tax, disapperearing discos and having to find new ones... so a little fat here or there is not as big of a deal as it is here in the States. As long as they can fit into their VERY tight jeans, they are looking good - bulge included!
Being accepted for what you are is all about your attitude. You can be fat or skinny and if you carry yourself as if you ARE the perfect body type for where you are and you ooze confidence, then any man around the globe will catch on.

Another thing important to note that if thicker woman would dress more appropriately they wouldnt be bashed all the time. I see alot of big woman wearing clothes 6 sizes too smaill and then the excess skin starts creeping out and honestly nobody wants to see that and it is not one bit attractive.

Okay, speaking as a Dominican male. Dominicanas in the island are banging hot, whoa, que calente son!!! I was impressed, flaca no bulge, booty, legs and breast included!!! I don?t want to sound like a perverted male but I was impressed with Dominicanas from the DR, not so much w/ NYC ones but over there they look greeaaattt . I went to alot of places in 3 days and saw roughly 5-10 good looking females per location (malls, banks, etc.) I'm just talking body type not facial features, in the hotels/casinos the best in SDQ are the waitresses at El Jaragua and El Santo Domingo Hispanola. Makes me feel guilty they have to sell there bodies the way they do to make money, oh well what can I do just watch and tip.
My preferred body type: Skinny, with a mouthful of lets say :nervous: mangos, hard body w/ flat stomach, round not big booty (there?s a difference), prefer light skinned or dark tanned but color doesn?t matter, good hair or curly good hair a must, do not like to run my fingers threw Africa (lol).
But seriously the DR has some of the best looking *professional women, office secretary, gerente de bancos, etc. Dominican women are definitely in the white-color work force, many attractive can pass for models. I love a woman in causal suits. *= does not mean hooker!

It's not so much a question of being sure of yourself. The thing is that everyone is different and so are their preferences.
I hate to say this but many guys at these hotels and even the locals will tell you what you want to hear a lot of the time just to get a piece of tail, some of them really don't care too much what you look like as long as they have a place to stick it. Okay, I know this sounds bad but I'm just expressing what I've learned from what I've seen.
When I went to DR I was with a bunch of girls. One of them was a little on the bigger side and she ended up messing around with this really cute light skinned guy. We hung out with him and his friends for some time and shortly after she had that encounter with him the guy and his friends were making fun of her in spanish, particularly in regards to her weight (and she is honestly just a bit overweight). I was the only hispanic girl there and obviously was disgusted with them and though I didn't say anything to my friend to spare her feelings, I made sure she didn't mess with him again.
For the record, I know that there are good guys and bad guys everywhere and that this can happen right here at home. I just saw this sort of thing amplified on the many times I have been to the DR.
