A diving accident in Punta Cana was reported on a German message board.
Three tourists and a Dominican diving instructor are said to have drowned.
There were no details given.
Can anybody confirm or elaborate?

A death confirmed.

This morning's Sunday "Hoy" gives a short account of the accident when the activity boat encountered a strong wave.

It is confirmed that a Belgium tourist, Defaw Welauais, has died and two if his companions are missing off the coast of El Cortecito = Bavaro-Punta Cana

The same newsbite also mentions a Dominican doctor and companion are missing from a fishing trip this past Wednesday after they departed the Ozama river in Santo Domingo.
