What price do you think is reasonable in Sto Domingo for a used Mercedes:

192 500sel in very good condition, with 150,000km.

Someone is offering this to me...is this expensive or OK?

The car, I am told, just had a complete tune up.

(I have never owned a Mercedes!!!) This would be a first for me.

Year of Mercedes?? Price offered at?

What is the year of the car? What price are you being offered the car at? Circumsantces of buyer? "Motivated"? Desperate? Gas or diesel? 80, 000 mi [150K km] is not old age for a gas engine, but she's not a virgin. Who did the tune up? Copy of bill? History [ie papers] of the car's maintenance from day 1?
* I owned 3 Mercedes, all in the USA; Mercedes recommends a major tune up every 15K miles [not km].
* If the dealer does the tune up it's usually expenisve & of high quality.
* Suggestion: ask more questions.

He said it is a 192, approximately 1,812 years old, must have a lot of wood and stone contruction.
But, on the plus side, VERY low miles for it's age. Driven once a week by generations of grandmothers.

Ain't that special!

As long as the sarcastic responses are DR related, they won't be deleted!
In all seriousness, it's worth between $5K- $7500 US.

$2,600.00 American is what I paid for my 1984 model 126 last year. It was bought from a German guy that I did alot of business with in the past. Mileage was said to be 64,000 but for all I know it could have been 164,000 since the odometer doesn't work. Condition is good, body is good and it purrs as sweet as my Benz up here. Wish I had it here for a good winter car up here. If anybody is going to try to cheap shot me on the 126, that's the German model number. The 126 translates into the 300 series in the States.
