Household goods shipping, window of time??

I "heard" that there is a window of time, six months to complete the shipping of your personal and household effects, "duty free" if you have your residencia. Question being... can I bring in 2 containers, one prior to selling home abroad, and a second, being the final contents of my home?

You can bring in a container of USED household effects free of customs duty during the 1st year of residency in a single shipment.

You can bring in additional containers every week for the rest of your life if you so desire BUT you will pay the assessed customs duty as you will have used up your 1 time freebie.
