Am planning a visit in November this year.
Of all the hotel choices, I have narrowed it down to the Clarion or the Melio. They appear to be about 4 blocks apart. Since the Melio is on the water, it is about 30 US more per day. I don't spend much time on the beach, so am considering the Clarion. Any experiences here?

The Melia is on the water (Malecon) but there ain't no beach, unless you count piles of giant rocks as a beach. So it is not a reason to choose it.
