Ok, so I invited a friend of mine to stay one less day in Punta Cana and take a bus with me to Santo Domingo... So we'll be there Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

Any suggestions as to where I should take him? He's from France. Do my options change if I have a car (my cousin might lend me his)? For example, should I just drive around La Capital and take him to Boca Chica, or Jarabacoa? Or is there plenty to see in Santo Domingo? He'd have had enough of beaches (what else is there in Boca Chica?)

Answer as extensively as you can.

PS. Any opinons on Grand Flamenco Resort in Punta Cana? I will be there for 2 nights.

There is definitely enough to keep you busy for a day in Santo Domingo. See http://dr1.com/travel/santodomingo/

Lots of nightlife in the city -- colonial city or Piantini/Abraham Lincoln/Naco area.

Also see http://dr1.com/directories/index.shtml to choose a hotel.

If you have been already at Punta Cana, then you have had your share of beaches.

Forget Jarabacoa. Leave that for another visit. It would take you all day.

Firefan,

Don't know what you are into but here you go:

HAPPY HOUR SPOTS

- The front deck of Morocha (owned by the cafe pepperoni guys)
- Punta y Corcho (older, old money crowd empties early nice 30-40 yr old women)
- The outside tables at cafe pepperoni starting around 8:30
- Friday evening at Outback Steakhouse
- Steakhouse (cool eclectic interior and a lot of women)

DANCING

- Tuesday night (ladies' night) at Treo Cafe (younger girls but its like shooting fish in a barrell)
- Cafe Monticristo (Tuesdays and especially Fridays)
- There is a place owned by the son of the president of one of the big banks there and he is also a well known singer. I don't remember his name or the name of his place but on Thursday nights late, he sings there and it is packed with 30-40 year old women. I'll get you the name tomorrow.

I'll take you around to some other cool places when I get there this week and introduce you to some fun people.

Regards
