DR1'ers at the Carneval?

I was wondering if any of the DR1'ers living in Santo Domingo are planning on attending the Carneval this Sunday? If so, any good spots along the Malecon that you could recommend or perhaps a spot where DR1'ers "usually" hang out??

We'll probably be checking it out. We live a few blocks west of Gomez, and will just walk along the Malecon unless things look too crazy and crowded. Last week we watched the parade sitting in front of Vesuvio, the crowd was fairly tame, that far from most of the action. I'll be wearing my DR1 tee-shirt and hat! And drinking out of my DR1 Mug! ;)
