For those of you wishing to make donations of used baseball equipment, there is a site called www.drbaseball.org that you can send your used equipment to for distribution in the DR.
The site wants you to ship/deliver your donations to their office in Chicago. I have found it much more enjoyable to simply bring the equipment with me when I travel to the DR. It is very rewarding to see the appreciation in the eyes of the Dominican youth when they receive the equipment. Plus, I know the equipment is getting to the kids who need it.
True, it is great to just give it out yourself. They suggest on the site that you do that on your own. But for those of us who had not thought of it before we went and don't plan on going back in the near future, or for those with large amounts of equipment that they can not feasibly ship on their own, it would be a great option.
