Help Please!!
Can anybody tell me if the Dominican Republic has it's own admiralty or maritime law or do they follow any other nation's law. Could a petitory action be brought here or in the US? The US registered vessel concerned has been sold here in 1996 to a Dominican company, who paid import duty and registered the vessel with the Marina de Guerra. A bogus Bill of Sale dated 2002 has turned up from the original owners to another person in the US. As far as I know a person cannot sell the same thing twice and to two different parties.
