A group of us are coming down for another vacation & wanted to make a day trip we haven't made before, something a little off the normal 'tourist' track. We are interested in visiting Santiago, and I wondered if anyone could recommend places that are a 'must see' (historical, natural beauty, etc.) while there, or could recommend a couple of resturants.

Define "Group"

Also the "when".....

First off is the Centro Le?n. Then go down town to the Casa de Arte and the Centro Cultural. Go through the Cathedral, and walk around the park.

Sort of depends on what you like to do. Golf? Cigars? Party?

Restaurants: Cosa Nostra on Sabana Larga; El Pez Dorado on Calle del Sol; El CAf? on Calle 5 of the Jardines; Maroma-Novo Cuizine on Calle 13 of the Jardines; Nano's and Mezza Luna in Villa Olga; El Tronco (BBQ Chicken and Casava (RD$170 per chicken); F-7, Across from the ISLA station on Bartolom? Col?n (Fried meat and tostones-RD$110 per serving); Chitos for roast pig; And a couple of "secret places" for special people...hehehe

If you want, send me a PM and we can talk about Santiago...
