What happens in the DR if you pass away without a will. There is no spouse or children surviving. How does the administrator of the estate sell the property and are there any fees associated with the property transfer?

There is a Napoleonic code, so brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews may inherit without a will. It's irrelevant, anyway, since the lawyers will take it all.

The short and long of it is this

If you have no heirs, get rid of it before you pass away. Do it well andyou can benefit those you wish. Do it poorly and you just give the corrupt folks more money to play with.
