When someone is talking and you want to change the subject we say something like:

So, how was you day?

How would you say that in Spanish?

Not so much in DR, but 'Pues...' is very common in Central America and Mexico.

In the DR 'Entonces...' or 'Y entonces...'.

'Y entonces, ?como te fue hoy?' - something like 'Well then, how was your day?'

Pues is more common in Central America, where I go lately vs. entonces, which always reminds me of Toonces the Cat on Saturday Night Live.

"Oh, y otra cosa" (Oh, and another thing) or

Aside from entonces and pues, the word "bueno" gets used frequently as well.
Its kind of like saying anyways sometimes.
