There are 3,191 ONG?s (organizaciones no gubernamentales), that the DR government pays DR$ 84,795,136.23 every month and DR$ 1,017,541,634.75 each year to. This is paid out from 14 different institutions.

The Secretary of State of Education is one of these institutions and it pays out to 657 NOG?s monthly to the tune of RD$ 8,973,600.00 monthly and RD$ 107,683,200.00 yearly. This is part of the budget for the funds allocated to be used to teach the children in this country.

Every governor, senator and deputy has one of these NGO?s.

Not every NGO states where it is located on the report by the Oficina Nacional de Presupuesto (ONAPRES)

That the government gives monies monthly to such ONG?s as;

Paid monthly Total Yearly
BONAO COUNTRY CLUB, inc. 5,000.00 60,000.00

CASINO DEL YUNA, INC., BONAO 6,250.00 75,000.00

CASINO JARAGUA, INC. 3,000.00 36,000.00

CASINO SAN JUAN, INC. 3,000.00 36,000.00

These are not gaming casinos as foreigners use the term, but rather are social halls. I'm not saying the money is well spent, but people shouldn't think the money is going to gaming companies.

I didn't know

Thank you Porfio for clearing that up. Out of the 23 ONG's slated for here in El Seybo, the locals that are in the know inform me that only 3 are set up to help the people and community here and that they know for a fact that 17 of them are pure personal payoffs and 3 are unknown.

Once again thank you as it did look fishie.

Things that make you go hmmmm...
I guess it's time to setup my ONG...Would Organizacion Para El Desarrollo de la comunidad DR1 (OPEDECOD) suffice?

I did a quick search for the ones in Cotui and found one Called FUNDACION CEVICO HACIA EL 2000, SANCHEZ RAMIREZ. Here's the year 2004 and they are still getting 17,333.33 pesos/month. There's another one called FUNDACION FANTINO HACIA EL NUEVO SIGLO, SANCHEZ RAMIREZ getting 40,000 pesos/month and one from my hometown - FUNDACION LA MATA, SANCHEZ RAMIREZ which is getting 96,500/month. I have no clue what this organiation does in my community. I will definitely try to find out. Have a feeling that this may be one created by the senator of our province who happens to be from my hometown.

If you learn how to do it.......

I sure would like to know suarezn as I would like to start one for my son.

I wish NalOwhs would research his town and let us know how many ONG's are there and if he knows to whom the monies go and if they are used to help the people and or community.
