Hi guys, some of my friends are planning on staying in SD for a week in July and needed to get info on apartahotels in the city. Does anyone have a price quote for a week. What are the accomodations? Does it make sense to rent a hotel room? What hotel? How much? They are on a tight budget.

I stayed at Apart Atalaya in February of 2004. I think they no longer have a website. I believe there rooms are in the $RD1500/night range. Their phone number is (809)534-6565.

Not sure how far your friends want to travel but you can get decent rooms in
boca Chica for $30 to 40 a night. Check out www.bocachicabeach.net. The
bus to Santo Domingo runs from early morning to about 9 or 10 pm. It is about $1.25 each way and takes 20 minutes.

In gazcue on calle danae, hotel la residence has rooms for 800-900 pesos. They had a 3rd floor special for 650 pesos this week. Check out the online version of listin diario for specials.
