Traveling to SD next week staying at the Villa Italia. I'm looking for the closest "upscale" casino to the hotel. How far is it and how much should a taxi ride be?
Your hotel is on Independencia, so if you go down to the Malecon, on George Washington you will find at least 4 major hotels with Casinos (Jaragua, V Centenario, Napolitano, etc.)

Thanks. Is the Malecon walking distance from where we'll be or will I need to get a cab. Also, are there any golf courses within a reasonable distance of Independencia (and what are their names)? I appreciate the assistance
The Casinos will be East of your hotel or if you are walking down you will turn left on the Malecon. Look for Independencia 1107 on the map and it will come up.
For Golf you have the Santo Domingo Country Club or Isabela Country Club , they are not in walking distance, at least 20 minutes taxi ride.
