Foreigners with rental property in DR?

I will be there around Oct. 99 and will stay 2 to 4 months. I am looking to rent for a short term until I purchase an apartment. I am willing to pay in dollars (from $275.00 to $300.00)I prefer a furnish apartment, water, electric and if possible AC. (Santo Domingo area only) Any suggestions are welcome.

Let me just say that for that price you are not going to get very much and definitely not be in a "good" neigborhood. An apart hotel with one bed room and furnished with the amenities you speak of will go for around $700 per month (of course no deposit or lease or any such hassle such as that)

What is "good" neighbourhood? To live next to americans and europeens? In a guarded complex? Is living next to Dominicans bad? ..he is going to the DR, so why not living with them? Rafael, you can find for sure a nice place in the price catagory you thought about and for sure with a nice neighbourhood.

Well Alicia, I'm very curious what adresses you can find for Rafael, because for that price I like to have a apartment too in Santo Domingo!!!
