Hi Guys,

I know that it's difficult for Dominicans to travel to the United States...

But are there other countries they can visit with just their passpost?

For example, I'd like to visit Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Cuba or Mexico with my friend who lives in the DR.

Any insight or suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.

The last time I checked, Puerto Rico is considered the United States.

PS: You forgot to post this message in The Sankie 101, Business, and Environmental sections as well!

If he had posted it in the Environment Forum, I would have deleted it as off-topic. :tired:

Then have this thread deleted, since he posted it 3X.
It's polluting the cyber environment.

I can't. I'm only the moderator for the Environment Forum. There I have power. Here I'm just another poster. :cheeky:

If you are able to get a visa to Mexico (since it's not on the list  ), I could direct you to some tour guides who offer wonderful adventurous hiking tours thru the Rio Grande or Sonora Desert ;)

There you go - Cuba - one out of 4 isn't bad. Of course if you are American prepare to pay the US$7500 fine if the US paranoid squads find out. You can't go there and spend money you know.

Also keep in mind this list is tempting but unless he travels via airports where you don't need a visa or you enter but don't clear immigration, getting there can be impossible. No connecting via Miami in other words or Puerto Rico (which IS the USA).

Just take a trip to Ecuador - it is a beautiful country and everything is fairly inexpensive. I know for a fact that a Dominican only needs a passport and a plane ticket (even though the flight there requires a few stops in other countries they did not require a transit visa).

I made the trip there last year and my girlfriend came from DR. Peru would be another similar option.
