The National Hurricane Center has revised its estimates upward for the 2005 hurricane season. It is now forecasting 11-14 more storms, 7-9 of them hurricanes, and 3-5 of them major hurricanes. The reason is a rare atmospheric condition that almost insures that this hurricane season will be worse that previously forecast. For the report, see http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories2005/s2484.htm
