has anyone noticed that 75% of the newer models of volkswagens, audis and skodas in santo domingo have the passenger side wing mirror much smaller than the one on the driver's side.

is some supplier's agent going around smashing everyone's wing mirror, so they have to buy inferior (smaller) replacements from said supplier?
is this another european trend?
......or a third attempt at world domination?

VW, Scoda, audi, seat and also porche and Bently (former Rolls Roys) are from the same group. The first 3 brands use the same basis and engines for their cars. Technicaly speaking they are the same. Price is another point

Johan,

I agree with the first part.. they are all from the same group and use a lot of the same parts, for completeness you should add SEAT to it as well..

However the models, the finishing and the technical set-up of each of these parts if different making for very different cars, even though they share of the parts..

About the smaller side mirrors.. I have no clue and haven't seen it here in Europe..

Yes, it is smaller here in Europe too

My VW passenger's side wing mirror is smaller than the driver's side one. This is standard on VW and Audi (and probably Skoda as well) for some 5 years now.

Only on Skoda's you might be behind the times.. they are currently under-the-skin VW's without the latest technology, so basically ahlf a generation older than current VW-types. Typically a lag of 1-1.5 years..
