Yesterday when in the office of Servi Med in Cabarete, I saw a sign saying they now accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and International Health Insurance. To set it up, they need your passport and insurance card number. Takes about 3 days to get approval from the insurance company, according to the sign. So if you wait to set it up until you next consult the doctor, they will want your credit card number in case it is not approved for some reason or other.

STAT clinic in Cabarete....next to Janet's supermarket and their clinic in Camina Del sol.......accept medical insurance, from other countries. It is a big help to tourists....they are usually not prepared to pay $$$$$ for medical help. Especially if they are on a budget. The clinic is also very good to local expats.
