Does anyone have any tips for hiring english speaking call center representatives in the DR close to Peurta Plata area? Thanks for any help.

English University Courses?

Private English Classes or Courses?

Where to advertise job postings?

Here would be a good place. The classified ads on DR1 is a good place.
If you want English speaking locals ( billingual ) why not go to the evening English schools in town..there are many of those with adults as well.

Pay the Money

You're going to need it. Amercall(formerly Marcom)has gone nuts trying to find english speakers, and have even gone as far as trying to recruit english speaking persons from Santiago, by offering free transportation.
You want English speakers? Pay more money! There is a lot of people that could do it if the pay was good, but making a few thousand pesos a month isn't going to hack it..
Excuse me for sounding negative, but it's the truth.

And you will have much better luck in Santo Domingo finding the Bilingual people, also helps to pay a living wage. If You pay more than 65rd an hour I can point you at a bunch, with execellent english

Wow, there seems to be a lot of confusion concerning what gets paid by Americall if you are an English speaking rep. First, most telemarketing firms that have a higher hourly wage than incentive limit the number of hours reps work and only keep them for 90 days and let them go. Secondly, you can easily earn over 100 pesos an hour with incentives. Usually call centers that aren't strictly customer service centers generate their revenue by sales. No call center that is a selling center can survive without the reps making sales. That's why incentives are important. On English only campaigns the incentive is usually $60 to $65 pesos per sale. The best sellers earn between $18,000.00 to $20,000.00 RD per month. The math is simple if you sell. Now if you can't sell or don't make the effort you don't make as much money and don't last. We have a lot of people come to Americall and they don't work out, just as in the US, because it is not suited for them, but if you can sell then you can earn an above average wage for Puerto Plata. In fact, the hourly wage of $44 per hour based on a Dominican work week of 44.50 hours per week is at a minimum $8,000 pesos per month.

So, regardless of what is being said or rumored, you can make way above the average in the Puerto Plata area and Santiago. The bus trip from Santiago is free, it is long but in the US people commute for 90 minutes or more and have to pay their own transportation. Our building is modern, air conditioned and in the Free Zone. Come see us.

Go up the street and sell Time-Share. The best reps make 20.000+ RD. on only one sale................And the Pro's are Dominican and not just Gringo's.
Why? Would a Sales Pro work in a Boiler room making Chicken s*** money!
The Time Share clubs don't have to resort to a message board as the money they pay speaks for it self
You pay Peanuts you get Monkey's.

If you go to the John F. Kennedy Language Center on Juan Pablo Duarte Avenue in Santiago, and talk to the top man, you can perhaps recruit some of his better students.

I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of his graduates.

Thank you for your reply...

Why do you locate in the free zone? Is there any benefits to a 'call center' operation in a free zone?

Your response is appreciated.
