Good people,

I was just in the DR for 3 weeks in September. I had planned to stay for 2.5 months but the weather was tooooo hot. I thought that September would start to cool down but I was wrong. What are the coolest months in the DR? As I recall from past experience in the Caribbean, that Dec, Jan, Feb & Mar were the coolest, but I do not have a great deal of experience year-round in the DR. Also, does it rain more during these months? All responses are appreciated.

These months are the coolest, but the past two years we have had a lot of rain in latter part of December and early January.

For locals whose bodies are accustomed to this climate, the winter nights can be quite cold. I use a light blanket during the winter months many nights.

Regarding September, in past years it did cool down. but this has been an exceptionally warm year, all year.
